WEINER AND WEINER
by my friend and neighbor Dante Russo – this amazing series is like a 60s romp for a 2000s kinda world. Musical numbers, support groups and oh yea, a hot dog that is just like you and me. I highly suggest watching the first season straight through as it feels almost like a mini movie. But enjoy each episodes 10 minutes on their own too. Silly and fun – get ready for season 2 and tons of related events happening throughout NYC in the future…Dante and his show are not to be missed. www.weinerandweiner.com for more info!

So my friend Stephen and I are a little obsessed with this YouTube series. The basic jist – what if one of Shakespeare’s lovely ladies had a sassy gay friend? Then they wouldn’t have made some of their mistakes. Here – in order of their release (and they get better each time) the sassy series:

OK – so I have neglected this blog for quite some time. Almost 9 months actually. And I think it’s time to pick back up again. I am currently just trying to finish laying down the details of what the Summer 2010 holds for me. Lots of teaching, coaching and involvement in what may be my first Broadway show as an assistant director…whaaaa? I’m excited AND scared. And I may even be taking some time to try my hand at writing my first piece…an idea I’ve kept with me for a long time that would allow me to be on the stage too…yes Mom can rejoice once again…and my grandparents: “What? He isn’t in it? No…we aren’t coming”. Click.

I’m so thrilled to be a part of this incredible composer’s work…and the fact that he is super close friend makes it even more fun. We are lucky to have assembled some of our favorite talents to perform some of the freshest new musical theatre you’ve heard in quite some time. Hope to see everyone at RATED RSO.

Stephen Agosto and I decided to do a little something for the staff show at Stagedoor this year when we first arrived…a chance for us to have some fun and be silly and sing a little ditty for the kids. Little did we know that a bunch of duets strung together with Stagedoor-centric lyrics would be all the rage for the rest of camp.

What I am so proud of is the caliber of what those kids and an amazing tech team pulled together in exactly 14 days of rehearsal including tech…brand new puppets, changing the show from 10 to 33 cast members (must under the age of 14) and a theatre space with more against it then most realize…not to mention the plague hit SDM this year. Much love to the entire Lil Shop team.

Hello world. So here is my very first blog on my brand new website. I am currently typing this from the apartment I am subletting in midtown Manhattan as I spend my last two nights in the big bad city before returning to Stagedoor Manor for their third and final session of the summer.
I am here in the city working on MRS. SHARP, an amazing new musical by my dear friends Ryan Scott Oliver and Kirsten Gunther. It stars 30 Rock star and Tony winner Jane Krakowski in the title role and I am the assistant director for Michael Greif of RENT and NEXT TO NORMAL fame. The last two weeks have been a fast paced whirlwind of excitement pulling these presentations of the piece together and today’s performances went brilliantly. I look forward to tomorrows final shows and have my fingers crossed this is only the beginning of the road for this piece.

Anyways – I hope this blog will serve as the most up to date info on the projects I am working on, the things I am following currently and the YouTube clips I am obsessing over. It will be a huge mix of personal and professional and I look forward to your feedback on it all.
